Used/new-ish Nintendo Gamecube for sale. Retails for $100 brand new, about $80 ysed. The starting bid was for $9.95.

...somoene's managed, over the course of six bids to jack the price all the way up to more than $1000.

For a $100 system.

.....I really hope that's a misprint. Because someone's either too stupid to live, or so careless with money that they deserve to die. Preferably hungry and penniless.

Either that stupid, or just that stubborn and refusing to give in to other bidders. o.O ... So, yeah, that stupid...

Here's what REALLY gets me. This is the bid history, to date:

Starting price/Bid 1: $9.95
Bid 2: $20
Bid 3: $24
Bid 4: $25.98
Bid 5: $1,045

Now here's the part where, although I'm stunned, I'm willing to allow the possibility that it was a typo, that they were trying to go up to $100 (which is still stupid but not approaching Darwin Award-winner stupid) and keyed it in wrong. But then we have:

Bid 6: $1,070

...that's right. Even if it WAS a mistake, someone was actually willing to trump it. Someone was actually willing to pay the price of the used system, PLUS $1000, for a system that tops out at $100 retail brand-new.

I'm thinking that if you live in any part of the country where you can't possibly get your hands on a $100 Gamecube, then you don't need to be spending $1000 PERIOD. I'm going to guess that if you live in that part of the country, you have much more immediate problems than missing out on Super Mario Sunshine.

Either that, or there's some seriously important microfilm in the guts of that Gamecube... c.c;;;
